“Something Borrowed” Bridal Brunch

As I mentioned in my last post, I was invited to a wonderful bridal brunch at the US Grant Hotel in downtown San Diego charmingly named “Something Borrowed”. Since I just got engaged, I must admit that I’m really enjoying this stress-free part of the wedding planning journey, you know the part where you haven’t even started? Yup, that’s me. Honestly I don’t know where to begin, so I was thankful to attend this event filled with ideas at every corner sending my sister and I’s mind into overdrive!

The first part of the brunch was a walk-through of what a ceremony would look like into a staged reception with music, drinks and food. I loved the ambiance- it was young, sexy and elegant.

After enjoying what I like to call the “pre-party” we headed upstairs to the Presidential Ballroom that was amazingly decorated by some of the vendors. The table my sister and I sat at a modern glam table. (Designed by First Comes Love, Haydee’s Creative Flowers, Classic Party Rentals, Nic.Roc Designs, Concepts Event Design and APR Fine Linen.)

While our 3 course meal was served the wonderful band played some fresh tunes like “blurred lines” and “happy” which made me want to get up and dance (but of course I contained myself).

There was a panel of experts, a Loverly presentation with some great ideas to take into consideration, and a fashion show of beautiful gowns in all sorts of styles. Here are 2 of my faves:

And of course more food… hmmmm…

Then to the dessert room! Yummy Cupcakes SD treated us to a lemon-inspired display:

Meanwhile La Reine de Macarons had some great display and this adorable macaroon chandelier!

Among the vendors, the very talented fashion designer Veronica Scott, next to the beautiful Whimsique Invitations

For a newly engaged woman like me, it was a lot of great information, contacts and inspiration to get me jumpstarted on this wedding planning path! As always, feel free to leave me any tips, advice in the comments section below!
