Leather Details

Consider me a repeat offender with most of the items in today's outfit because they are so versatile! The purse, the jeans and now these shoes from Marshalls (previously seen here) which are beyond comfortable and perfect for Fall. The top seemed like a natural addition since it pulls all of the elements together with its leather trims and gold buttons.

Sparkly Statement Necklaces

I have always been fond of statement necklaces, but lately I've become addicted to the sparkly colorful ones. Whether it be a simple tee with jeans or a fit and flare dress, there's something about these necklaces that add a glamorous and majestic touch to any outfit. Here are the ones I'm currently coveting!

Fall Olive

Fall is here and it's time to reach for the darker hues! One of my favorite colors for Fall is Olive- it can lend itself to the military trend or mix well with animal prints. Regardless of how you choose to wear it, gold accessories are always a great touch.

Transitional Florals

Floral prints are not just a thing of Spring and Summer, but can also be transitioned into Fall. Dainty Jea and I show you two ways to incorporate florals into your Fall Outfits!

¡Viva México!

On Monday, I celebrated Mexican Independence Day at the Don Julio Party on the grounds of the Junipero Serra Museum which was converted into a hip Mexican themed extravaganza! The party was DJ'd by Tijuana's Nortec which plays a fusion of electronic music and banda... music to my ears!

Don Julio stations were lined up with specialty drinks that were made with 100% Mexican flavors and ingredients, created by one of America's best bartenders, Andy Seymour. My favorite was the "Revueltas de la Independencia", it was so delicious that I have included the recipe (courtesy of Don Julio) down below!

I Keep on Fallin'

I'm obsessed with one of Fall's trendiest staples, black leather, but since it's still hot around here I thought this outfit was a perfect compromise. This dress by Cynthia Rowley was my latest #fabfound from Marshalls and just when I thought I had hit the jackpot for the day, I spotted these Nine West shoes that aside from being a great addition to my Fall wardrobe, go perfectly with this dress.

These pieces can easily be transitioned into Fall by adding a blouse and tights under the dress, or pairing these shoes with jeans- both of which I will show you once this weather cools off a bit, but for now to enjoy the remainder of this heat!

Lil bits of 'Grams

It's been an insanely busy week at work, but I will be bringing you some fresh outfits next week! For now, I want to share what's been going on lately using #latergrams, most notably my feature on the October issue of People StyleWatch (ahhhhh!!).

If you don't follow me on Instagram, I hope I entice you to follow me here @lilbitsofpau!

Orange Navy

Don't you just love that exhilarating feeling when you find something on sale? Well, I got that feeling times ten when I found this gorgeous Michael Kors Tunic at Marshalls for half off the retail price!

I have been going to Marshalls for as long as I could remember (my mom used to take me as a little girl) and it seemed ideal to try out for their #ProjectFab team, a team of bloggers who show you the latest fabulous Marshalls finds. I am happy to report that I am now 1 of 25 bloggers in the #ProjectFab team! It seems like such an organic collaboration because I rely on Marshalls for quality brand name clothing, shoes, home decor and even fitness gear on a budget-friendly price!

Black Leather + Gold

I read yesterday that "leather is the new denim" for Fall and I couldn't agree more. In particular, I have been drawn to the combination of black leather and gold - it has a luxe yet sexy vibe about it. You can dress up in leather with touches of gold, or add small touches of leather and gold to a casual look. Here are 10 black leather and gold items on my must-have list for Fall!

Fashion Week SD Preview & GIVEAWAY

As everyone and their moms are on their way to NYFW, I have been indulging and supporting some of our local talented designers here in San Diego. Fashion Week San Diego (which is taking place September 30- October 6th) gave us a one look per designer sneak peek last week that left me excited and wanting more.

This year 26 designers will be showcasing their looks within 3 days of runway shows (vs the one night last year). It goes to show how much FWSD, its designers and production has grown, which is encouraging to a local fashion enthusiast like me.

Hot Stripes

It's been scorching hot around here, so when it came down to deciding what to wear to the Kenneth Barlis fashion show, I immediately tossed on this mini fit and flare dress. I added this cool faux leather trimmed vest (last seen here) because it added some structure to the dress. I know Fall is right around the corner, but any excuse to bring my lace up sandals is a great excuse in my book.

August Recap

I can't believe we are already in September! Bye bye August, bye bye Summer?! It has been scorching hot here in San Diego and I'm kind of hoping that it stays this way for a few more weeks so I can still wear Summer outfits like some of the ones in my August Recap below.

1 / 2 / 3 / 4
5 / 6 / 7 / 8

As you can see, I have already started to dabble in some Fall pieces and colors.
Are you looking forward to Fall Fashion?
