Blazin' Red, Chambray and leopard

Happy Wednesday! I love all of the pieces involved in today's outfit- each piece is versatile on its own, yet together it's like the perfect pieces to this outfit puzzle. I had other options for the blazer in mind, but red felt right with Valentine's Day right around the corner. Added the red lip to match.

Talking about love, my poor boyfriend has been sick (longest flu season everrr!) I thank my lucky stars, my constant chugs of Airborne and the flu shot I got at work, that I haven't come down with it. I also want to thank my extremely supportive sister for filling in as photographer amidst feeding her kids, helping my nephew with his WWE sign and all those good ol' tasks of a hard working mother- love you sister!

My Photography

It's a soothing Saturday morning as I write this, with the sound of rain pouring outside, the doggies sleeping and the newest Vogue awaiting me to read it... this is the life! I decided to do some "pinning" this morning and as I was pinning cute stuff from all over the place, I revisited one of my neglected boards, the board of "My Photography".

Most of these pictures have been on the blog at one point or another, but as I look at them they take me back to the moment I snapped them. I take SO many pictures, but once in a while there's one that is so colorful and detailed that I stare at it for a while- usually it's that of food and drinks!

One of my resolutions is to improve my photography, not only in my outfits but in a creative sense. Hopefully my photography board will start to get filled with great pictures and memories. Enjoy your weekend!

Casual Hues & BOOT GIVEAWAY! *closed*

Goodness gracious San Diego has had terrific weather these last few days- not too hot and not too cold! On the day of these pics, my actual birthday, I headed out to have breakfast with my mom and sister, then dinner with my boyfriend, so I just wanted to be casual the whole day through. I wore this lightweight top, some jeans and these super comfy & cute boots from Not Rated (a Southern California footwear brand with great designs for young women). I kid you not, I kept getting so many compliments on the boots, even the waitress said "I like your boots" as she dropped off the bill!

The best part: YOU have a chance to win these boots courtesy of Not Rated! See directions below on how to enter!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Well ladies and gentlemen, I am *cough* years old. Let's just say, I'm not in my 20's anymore and opposed to how I celebrated my 20's (partying), now I celebrate it being introspective and feeling thankful for being alive another year.

This past weekend, I celebrated my birthday at a local restaurant El Vitral with some of my closest family and friends. Although I didn't want to it to be wild, I couldn't stop the drinks from coming! I didn't bring my SLR camera because I knew I was going to be drinking, so I apologize for the grainy pictures. I felt this dress was perfect for the occasion, just simple and classy with the high neckline detail.

Hope you like the pics! (Dress & Shoes (here) from Forever 21)

Rose, Houndstooth & Leather

The brisk weather has only strengthened my love for black turtlenecks- a versatile canvas for layering on different coats and blazers, as you will see in a lot of my outfits this season. I paired it up with my favorite cozy houndstooth scarf and these faux leather pants that look like they are attached to the leather booties!

Lately, due to my boyfriend and I's super busy work schedules, I have been racing to catch some sunlight for pictures. Unfortunately due to the sunset, the color of my blazer didn't translate that well, but it's a rose color (as last seen here). There have been incidents where it gets dark and I don't get to photograph my outfits (#bloggerproblems) BUT I'll try to put those on my Instagram (here!). Hope you like the look and hope you all have a great week!

Warm Trenches

The chilly weather has arrived here in the usually warm San Diego and it was time to bring out the ol' coats and boots out of the unused section of my closet. I love the look of a trench coat over a black turtle neck, a la Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face, and even though it can be paired with practically any shoe, I opted for my current go-to's: these cute leg warmers and Hunter boots.

Biker Neon Chick

Funny story: I've been nursing a hurt foot since the 1st of the year when I landed on it sideways while trying to get my dog up the stairs (way to start 2013!). The first day was grueling, as I felt helpless hopping around the house on one foot and not being able to drive anywhere! Luckily, it is feeling MUCH better and I'm able to resume my normal activities with a little limp. The upside of this experience is that I'm am beyond grateful for what I had taken for granted: my body!

And now, back to your regularly scheduled program... an outfit! I was finally able to wear heels and oh boy did it feel good! Sometimes make up and a good outfit on the outside makes me feel better on the inside.

My 2012 Outfits & 2013 Resolutions

2012 was a great year for Lil bits of Chic, such as co-founding San Diego Style Bloggers, my Mahal style video feature, being featured in print on Lucky Magazine, to name a few. Nevertheless, it's been a year of experimentation and learning which I hope continues into 2013 because I want that continuous curiosity and drive to improve.

2013 Resolutions
Health & Fitness
I want to achieve a goal weight and eat healthier. Although I like my curves, I want to feel healthier inside and know that I am putting in a good effort. It means discipline, more gym, more healthy foods and hopefully a fun 5k!

I want to start painting again, read, journal, write more and ironically, be on the phone less! I want to be present, enjoy the little beautiful things in life and hopefully travel!

2012 was challenging in that I had to do more public speaking than the year prior, I just hope to improve in this area and also keep working hard to get better results. I want to work on being more confident in the work place, being up for new challenges and show that I am a good worker.

What are your resolutions for the year?
Do you have any tips for me as I embark on my resolutions?
