Christmas Tree Picking Uniform

‘Tis the season my friends and if you’re new here, hi I’m Paulina and I LOOOOOVE the Holidays! If you’ve been here before, then you probably already knew that (hee hee). To initiate each holiday season, one of my husband and I’s traditions is to go to our local pinery and pick out a Christmas tree- it’s a great way to get into the Holiday spirit and jumpstart the decorating!

I have documented some of our Christmas Tree picking trips throughout the years on this blog and looking back it has made me realize 1) I’ve been blogging for a loooong time 2) There’s a formula to my Christmas Tree picking outfit!

Christmastime Baby and I, How to dress up baby during the holidays

This said formula includes: plaid + boots (Hunter boots specifically) + scarf + red lips.

In keeping with tradition, this year I decided to wear all of that with some of my updated and classic pieces (i.e. Hunter boots). I will say Hunter boots are great for the pinery because you won’t get sand, hay, mud or anything in the boots! I’ve had these black ones for years and am now debating getting a different colored pair – which color would you get? Here are some I am eye’ing:

‘Tis the season to be mad about plaid. I have to almost stop myself from buying plaid for the baby and I, but I can’t help it!

Christmas Family Activities, Holiday Family Activities

Last year our trip was unique and special in that it was Baby’s first outing and also ours as a family. Baby was a couple of weeks old and slept the whole time (as a newborn should) and us being new parents were super careful and still getting used to having a baby. This year, baby is one year old, sturdy and walking so it was more of a frenzy than anything because he wanted to get down and walk. Thankfully, we enlisted the help of our families and am so happy they came out to be part of our tradition.

I’m not super picky about the tree so I leave that task up to my husband because I’m more concerned about the decorating part. We picked up a 5’7 noble fir and headed to get breakfast with the fam. I used to decorate the tree on one whim but nowadays with a baby and work I have to do it in phases. As soon as it complete though, I will do a tour on Instastories so make sure to follow me there! I also just created a “Holiday” highlight reel to keep all of my Holiday related stories there in case you want to see!

What I’m wearing: cabi coat (no longer sold, but similar here) | Plaid shirt dress (shirt version also available here) | Hunter Boots (here) | Plaid Scarf | MAC liptensity lipstick in “Mulling Spices” | Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM bag

What baby is wearing: Carter’s Penguin set (jacket, onesie and pants) (similar set here) | Converse
