Down to Casual Business Attire

Today I’m getting down to casual business attire by sharing three key (and affordable) pieces that compose a simple yet chic business casual outfit!

I have worked in a corporate setting for well over 10 years and luckily our company has evolved over time to allow us to wear business casual in the office unless there are visiting clients present. Every company may have their own allowable dress codes and should give some guidance on what is not allowed (i.e. spaghetti straps, shorts, etc). In my office, jeans are allowed but we still must be appropriately dressed, after all we are conducting business! This look checks off that box and if your office allows jeans, it may also check off yours!

My choice of jeans are these skinny jeans, but not TOO skinny and not distressed with any holes, basically a clean simple pair. Since I’m in the office for over 8 hours and on the road for about 2, comfort is also a big factor in my choice of jeans. This pair has been my go-to pair for work, they are from Old Navy and run for below $40.

I have spoken about blazers before (and some great options for in and out of the office) and this blazer falls under that category. I may not need more blazers in my closet, but I tend to be a sucker for pinkish ones. My inner girlishness couldn’t resist so I got this one, that can easily be paired with an LBD or a simple top and jeans like I did here.

The basic black pointed heel is a must-have for every professional woman. The heel height you choose should depend on if you are running from meeting to meeting or doing a lot of standing because again, comfort is a big factor in our choice of shoes. This one for me is not too high and not too short (I’m starting to sound like the Goldilocks of heels) and as a major bonus, they are super affordable- this pair runs for less than $30.

In summary, these three pieces are all affordable and great to have in your work-wear arsenal. Plus, they are all versatile so they can be worn in other combinations! Need ideas or have questions? Feel free to let me know, in the comments below, email or DM on Instagram. As always, I appreciate you all reading my blog!
