Comfy Dress & Pregnancy Update

Happy Friday! I welcomed my third trimester last week and geez, it feels so close yet so far! I am due in 2 months and a half which feels like a long time in terms of dealing with this added weight and the symptoms, but a short time when I think of everything we still have to do to prep for baby! During this last stretch, I’m trying to not pack on the pounds like I did in the second trimester (when I regained my appetite) but I can’t help it! Sometimes the highlight of my day is some good food! In times like these, I’ve been sticking to flowy dresses like this one and have been living in it most weekends.

PREGNANCY UPDATE

I’m now 29 weeks and have been struggling with being able to do things around the house without getting winded or waking up with swollen feet the next day. I put myself to the test the other day cleaning out what is to be the nursery and after having the hardest time picking stuff up off the floor, it hit me, I’m not as mobile as I used to be! *insert crying emoji* Another annoying symptom has been heartburn which luckily I had not struggled with before so it’s all new to me. I’ve had to start avoiding salsa (broke my lil Mexican heart) and spicy foods.

In other news, energy levels seem good which is why I’ve been trying to get a lot of work done in the office. Since I really was not operating at full capacity during the first 4 months, I wanted to step it up at work to make up for it and also start preparing everything and training my backups before I go on maternity leave. It’s funny because now that I’m noticeably pregnant people in my building are so much kinder and nicer!

Baby has been moving a lot and now per Doctor’s orders, I have been counting kicks twice a day to make sure he’s not in distress. We heard his heartbeat on Monday and I’ll see him next week for an ultrasound (can’t wait). My husband has been enjoying feeling his karate chops and my dog loves to put his head on my belly, so technically he’s been getting beat up by the baby already (lol).

It feels like I’m in a whirlwind of things to do leading up to the baby’s arrival and after that it’s show time which I know will not be easy so feel free to leave me advice if you’re a mommy!!
