Colorblock 2.0

When I started blogging a couple years back, color blocking was all the craze (I, of course, tried my hand at it then), but like other trends it faded. On Saturday, after I put this outfit together I totally realized I was colorblocking maybe a couple years too late, BUT I totally loved the combo! I appropriately titled it Colorblocking 2.0, meant to make you chuckle!

Later that day, I tossed on some sneaker flats and headed out to the madness that was San Diego Comic Con, if you want to see pictures head on over to my Instagram! It felt like the Gaslamp was one big theme park during Halloween!

Geo Print Pants for #rSSchoolNight

Last night I attended the RewardStyle class series that made a stop here in San Diego (pictures of that at the end of the post), but first.... the outfit. Since the print on the pant is a little overwhelming, I did what I always do when one piece is bold, I kept everything else simple. I also went with the oversized white vest vs. wearing a blazer due to the 80 degree temperature we were having- 'tis a hot day! And let me just say, running late and heat don't mix.

Sporty Prep

I'm always reworking my wardrobe mainly because I love juicing out each piece that takes up prime real estate in my small closet or to save money, but today the reworking was mainly because I was left with the urge to style this skirt differently.

When I styled this skirt the first time around, it was a last minute decision to wear it with heels, but I really wanted to wear this skirt with my converse, especially because the skirt itself is so comfy. When the fiance invited me to watch him at the golfing range, I figured I should kill two birds with one stone by rocking this sporty prep look which is great for spectating- and outfit pictures of course ;)

Opening Day at Del Mar

Opening Day at the Del Mar Racetrack is one of the most fashionable affairs in San Diego and of course, I had to be there! As you may have seen herehere and here, I not only love checking out the festivities every year, but I love thinking of an outfit that revolves around the mandatory headpiece. There are so many options: big hats, fascinators, bowler hats or as you can see below from the Annual Opening Day Hat Contest, an elaborate concoction on your head can do the trick!

Bridesmaids Dresses Online

Wedding season is in full swing and as I start to plan a wedding of my own, my eyes and ears are very receptive to the latest wedding fashion trends.

I have recently stumbled upon Review Australia an online store filled with not only every day to formal wear, but also an array of bridesmaid dresses.

White Out + Pop of Pink

Seeing a slew of all white looks recently made me crave that type of outfit, however I couldn't resist adding the usual pop of color for yesterday's San Diego Style Bloggers brunch. I must admit I'm addicted to these shoes, every time I wear them they liven up an outfit and compliments ensue!

Nautical Fashion for SD Museum

In honor of artist Sorolla's art exhibit at the San Diego Museum of Art, a Culture & Cocktails event was held last night where guests were told to come in their best nautical inspired outfits. You know I love me a good theme, so as soon as I got the invite I knew that these pants with anchors and sailboats were perfect for the occasion! Women wore stripes, anchor prints, and men donned their best sailor-eque suits. It was definitely a fun and fashionable night, with art of course!

How to make life Fresh & Easy

From trying to excel in my 9 to 5 career to being a style blogger when I'm off the clock to running the San Diego Style Bloggers community and now trying to plan a wedding while trying to... hello... live, my plate is always full. With only having 24 hours in a day to do everything, my diet and fitness slowly started to take a back seat. I have recently decided to start to prioritize my health by watching what I eat and fitting in work outs before bed.

My biggest downfall is dinner and snacking. I usually get home from an hour long commute with a ravenous appetite and a fridge full of all of the wrong quick foods. The "It's About Time It's Fresh and Easy" campaign gave me an opportunity to venture into my local Fresh & Easy to see what options they had for me to make the necessary adjustments to not fall into the same mistakes. I picked up a few goodies that were definitely (healthy) and easy (fast)!

Here are the goodies I picked up that are now staples in my fridge:
Fresh & Easy Salad Kit, Fresh & Easy salad, Fresh and Easy Neighborhood Market, Fresh & Easy Market, Fresh & Easy meal ideas, Fresh & Easy Wild Oats, Fresh & Easy Pre-prepared meals, Easy and quick meal solutions

Crochet by the bay

San Diego weather was (as always) amazing over the weekend. I felt as if I had flown somewhere for a getaway only to realize come Monday I'll be stuck in an office, BUT let's not think about that! My vacation wardrobe came out to play, in particular this loose crochet dress and flat sandals to walk around San Diego bay which after a couple of compliments from strangers felt like the perfect outfit of the day. Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

Errands Outfit

Because every woman needs a go-to outfit to run errands... to go into the Target vortex, to drop off packages at the post office, to stop by the grocery store to buy the essentials (only to be too hungry to get home to make it) so it leads to one last stop at the local burger joint (to get a salad, of course), then get home to an excited dog who thinks you are going walk him so you do (to not break his little heart and yes, still hungry)- yup, I just described my day in this outfit and I couldn't feel comfier! Who says you can't run errands in style?!
