Pau from the Block

These rad Naughty Monkey "Stereo Love" sneaker wedges called for the revival of my "Dream Believe Achieve" tee last seen here. I paired it all up with jeans to keep it casual, metallic sunnies to balance out the silver and let's not forget the bold lip!

As a fashion blogger, I'm constantly scouting locations that complement my outfits, so today I remembered this really cool bridge overpass I jogged on a while back that matched the vibe I was going for. My boyfriend was like "but it has graffiti on it" and I'm like "yeah and it goes perfect!" Hey, I'm a girl that grew up in the hood, and sometimes it's good to reminisce where I came from!

Illusion Dress + Project Ethos Recap

Project Ethos is where Fashion meets Music meets Art in one great space featuring talented artists in each arena. I was excited to attend my first Project Ethos and it definitely did not disappoint! For one, it was held at one of my fave nightclubs Fluxx, with a red carpet, art all around and runway shows to great music. Designers such as Haus of Estrada, Tumbler & Tipsy, Wayward, House of Devali, Fortune 421, Noia by Evelyne, Andre Soriano and jewelry line, Kristen Dorsey Designs in collaboration with Pink Lagoon all displayed their beautiful pieces with a musical intermission by Erin Woods.

I just got this dress from ASOS and I fell for it as soon as I saw it because of the side illusion that makes it look like it's sheer, but it is not. It's a great dress that makes observers think you are daring when in reality everything is covered up ;)

Flowers on Flowers on Jeans

T-G-I-F!! Who's ready for the weekend? Me! Me! Last weekend I met up with some friends for brunch at Bamboo Lounge in Hillcrest. Florals are always brunch appropriate, but since this was a super casual brunch it also called for jeans!

There are so many factors that drew me to this top from ModDeals (color, print, shape), but the winning factor was price! If you haven't noticed by now, I thrive on bargains- I mean, who doesn't want to get more bang for their buck AND stay on trend? ModDeals has become one of my go-to's because of their chic selection at an extremely low price- let me repeat that, like really low price for really cute stuff (I'm talking as low as $5)! Plus, they were kind enough to offer an additional 15% for my readers when you use promo code MDSUMMER4. Offer Valid until 8/15/13. As if prices weren't already low enough! See for yourself! Happy Shopping!

White Short Suit

Happy Wednesday! The weather has been so iffy around here that I had to reach for the short suit! The blazer kept me warm from the random winds and the shorts kept me cool from the random humidity, but regardless of weather, a short suit is always chic! I had to add these Zara sandals that are always such a statement (and I try to incorporate anywhere I can) and cool gold details that are also statements all on their own. Hope you like the all white ensemble!

Strut'n in Rose Gold

When ClassyChickClothingOnline asked if I would be one of the live bloggers at their Del Mar Opening Day after-party I said, "absolutely" and.... "what to wear?!" As you saw in my previous Del Mar blog post, I usually go girly to Opening Day and this time was no exception!

I have had this adorable metallic dress in my closet for quite some time, but I am so glad that I waited to wear it because it went perfectly with my newest ShoeDazzle addition- these rose gold toned metallic heels. While I was at it, I said "let's rose-gold errrthang" (why not?) so I wore all rose-gold toned accessories to complete the monochromatic theme and topped it off with the mandatory Opening Day head piece!

I had such a great time taking pics of the fashion and chatting with fellow fashionistas! Stay tuned for the full recap of the STRUT event in Part II, along with fashion show pictures & more! For today, enjoy my Opening Day Look!

Orange and Leopard

Happy Wednesday! Over the weekend I met up with fellow bloggers Ale and Lisa for lunch at the always beautiful Prado Restaurant in Balboa Park. The weather was amazing and since we wanted to walk around the park after lunch, I wanted to wear something comfortable and airy- queue the shirt-dress and flats!

Red Hot Summer

A little red dress is the equivalent of bold and when wearing the perfect red number you will be sure to turn some heads! Faviana, well known for its amazing playful and sophisticated special occasion dresses, sent me this red dress that has all of the bells and whistles of the perfect statement dress- the one embellished shoulder, ruching details that flatter my curves and a cape-like drape in the back. To style it, I wanted to let the dress be the star, and to elevate its presence I paired it with simple silver accessories, nude shoes and a nude clutch. Nude shoes are also a great way to give that illusion that your legs are longer and they practically go with anything!

Ashley Benson from one of my favorite shows Pretty Little Liars is the face of Faviana! I was actually watching PLL when I received the email so I knew this collaboration was meant to be. Make sure to check out their website to see some of the looks Ashley a.k.a. Hannah models and all of the other amazing dresses!

Blink Lash Boutique- Eyelash Extensions

Last week I had the great opportunity to get my first eyelash extensions at Blink Lash Boutique! I have been hearing about eyelash extensions for quite some time, but didn't have the courage to get them because I thought they would hurt or damage my natural lashes, but I have since learned that is totally not the case!

I am so glad that I went to Blink Lash Boutique for my first eyelash extension experience because they are so welcoming and they are highly specialized in this area. I met with Janelle, co-owner of Blink Lash Boutique who educated me about eyelash extensions as she placed my extensions in. She explained to me that one extension lash is glued per natural lash and the glue does not touch your skin. They customize the extensions depending on what level you desire from a demure "Bashful" to a voluptuous "Bombshell" set. You can also choose from synthetic to faux mink to mink lashes!

Here is some of the process (the white part is to cover the bottom lashes):

For my eyelash extensions I wanted lashes that were demure, yet noticeable. When I looked in the mirror I was astonished at how natural my eyelash extensions looked! The extensions blend in with my natural lashes giving them much needed length and volume which also allows me to be mascara free. They are also curled, so no curling is needed! I so underestimated the power of eyelash extensions because now I wondered how I went all this time without them. I absolutely love them!

White Party Dress

White parties are a very chic Summer theme with guests dressed in their refreshing white garments. If you are wondering what to wear to a white party, remember to add personality to your outfit through your accessories, shoes and lip color. A white party is also the perfect occasion to sport that Little White Dress I talked about in this previous post.

I recently went to my first white party of the season with my girls at Sidebar in downtown. I wore this dress (previously worn here) and jazzed it up with my favorite silver mirrored heels, silver accessories and added a bold peach pop of color on my lips. Since these pictures were literally taken as I left to the party, please excuse the photography and lighting!
Here are some pictures from the event!

San Diego County Fair

The San Diego County Fair (also known as the Del Mar Fair) is a must when you live in San Diego! The fair opens every Summer with all the traditional carnival rides, festival games, concerts and the best part for me, the (fried) food concoctions. This is the place where you can find bacon nutella pizza, fried avocados, and fried klondike bars (ew and yum)! This year's theme was "Game On" with a game themed entrance and a room full of vintage arcade games (sad that they are considered vintage considering those are the arcade games of my time).

To walk around, I had to be comfortable and my converse shoes are the epitome of comfort! I paired it up with some other comfortable Summer pieces- shorts, this JustFab crossbody, and my chambray top as a vest. Please note my top was extra flowy to accommodate all those fried goodies. If you're in San Diego the Fair ends 4th of July, after which they clean it up and get it ready for the racetrack season!

Red (Lips), White and Blue

It's fourth of July week and it's time to indulge in the Red White and Blue fashion! I added a red lip to my blue and white outfit which is a simple way to turn your outfit from sailor to patriotic!

It was another beautiful sunny weekend in San Diego and to enjoy it, the family and I started off with brunch at Candela's on the Bay in Coronado Island. After sippin' on mimosas and munchin' on the Mexican breakfast buffet (accompanied by a wonderful view of the bay), we decided to hop on the ferry into downtown. The ferry dropped us off by the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum which is a great sight to see if you are in San Diego, and next to the "Unconditional Surrender" Statue which made me feel extra patriotic!
