FAB Outfit for LuckyFABB Day 1

What to wear to Lucky-freakin-Fabb?! There are so many elements that go into play when thinking of an outfit for this type of event because you will be in a room full of bloggers who are as passionate about fashion and beauty as you are. It has to be chic, on trend, representative of your style and then throw a wrench in it-comfort. After all, it is NYC and walking is required, plus the conference itself is over 8 hours of sitting, mingling, lugging around the swag bag, picture-taking, etc. I decided on this outfit because I thought it embodied my style, was perfect for Fall and it was kinda comfy.

Funny story: I tried walking to the venue since it was a few blocks from my hotel and after 2 blocks I gave up and hailed a cab. I knew I had arrived to the event when I saw a line of the most beautifully dressed girls (bloggers). I arrived by myself because, hey I'm over the whole embarrassed stage, I can practically talk to anyone, but by some strike of serendipity Mikki lined up behind me (she also lined up behind me at the LuckyFABB west conference in LA) so we immediately started catching up.

New York Minute

Hellooooooo blog! I am back from spending a few days in New York City for both pleasure and business. I did the whole tourist thing with my family and also attended the LuckyFabb conference and I have sooooo much to share with you guys from both. I have to thank Lucky Magazine for pulling out all the stops (as I knew they would judging from the last LuckyFabb I attended) and of course my cousins from New York who took us all around town. For today I want to share one of my outfits I wore to walk around NYC. Since we would be walking many many (did I say many?) blocks I wore flat boots with no heel. We went over the the Saint Patrick's Cathedral for mass. The cathedral is undergoing construction and was covered in scaffolding, but it was still magical. If you want a sneak peek at what's coming make sure to follow me on Instagram (@lilbitsofpau).

Fall Layering

Our weekend weather here in San Diego was a little bipolar with heat during the day and chilliness at night. Layering is the perfect solution for such days because you can remove or keep the items as you please! Hope you had a great weekend, enjoy your Monday and make sure follow me on Instagram as I make my way to NYC for the LuckyFABB conference (if you are going, shoot me an email or DM on Twitter if you'd like to meet)!

How I style my hair & #NeutrogenaHair

Please note: this is in collaboration with Latina Bloggers Connect and NEUTROGENA®This post was written by me and expresses my genuine views.

I know a lot of girls can relate when I say I have a love-hate relationship with my hair! I love it after I take the time to style it, but I hate it when I do nothing to it because my hair is naturally wavy and frizzy. You know that term "bad hair day" well I think it was created for me when I don't do anything to my hair (lol) and as damaging as hot tools are, I find them to be a necessity if I want my hair to look decent. Through the many years of trying different styles, I have settled on this go-to hair style that makes me most confident and yet looks natural. Today I'm going to show you how I tackle the frizz monster with these Neutrogena Triple Moisture® hair products and the simple steps below!
1. Fresh out da shower!
In the shower I applied the Triple Moisture Cream Lather Shampoo which is perfect for my extra dry hair. Once I rinsed it off, I followed it with the Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditioner concentrating on the ends. After shampoo and conditioner, I applied the Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask on the tips of my hair and left it in for 3-5 mins to help revitalize my damaged hair.
2. Prep for styling!
While my hair is still damp I applied Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-In Cream
to aid in managing my frizzy hair and help my hair be softer and shinier once styled.
3. Blow Dry!
I will say that due to the conditioning, my hair was so easy to brush through!
4. Frizz Break! Boooo!
5. Curl Ends!
To make sure I style all of my hair, I put half up and curl the ends of my hair in sections. I style it this way to give my fine hair a little bit of volume.
6. Straighten!
I then straighten the section of the hair minus the curls (since I want to keep those!) I have come to the conclusion that I need to do this if I want the hair to not frizz up later.
7 & 8. Continue Curling!
I bring down the rest of my hair and continue curling
Ta-dah! Now I'm ready to tackle the town in my long, soft and shiny hair!

Pass that Versace

neon yellow dress
Did anybody else watch the "House of Versace" lifetime movie over the weekend? Since I was going to be attending the last day of runway shows at Fashion Week SD, I ended up recording the movie, but I was so anxious to get home to watch it! It was such an interesting dramatization of what happened in the house of Versace when Gianni was murdered and Donatella had to step in to keep it a family business. In honor of Versace on my brain, I busted out my good ol' vintage Versace blazer and paired it with this dress that reminds me of Versace- bold yellow and sexy. Funny Fact: I had Versace jeans in high school and now I'm dreading having gotten rid of them since Versace Jeans Couture is no more, I probably don't fit in them anyways *womp womp*

Vintage Midi Skirt

Fashion Week San Diego

It's been a pretty intense few days as I tried to attend all of the events of Fashion Week San Diego and aside from supporting our local designers, the biggest inspiration was seeing my fellow San Diegans' stylish outfits. This inspiration compelled me to wear this vintage skirt that had been in my closet for years, I just had nowhere to wear it to! If you have an amazing skirt in your closet like I did, pair it with a casual white top to let the skirt be the star!

Lil Mod

TGIF! The start of runway shows for Fashion Week San Diego started yesterday and I went a lil' mod for the occasion. To be honest, I picked up this dress during my lunch break at work after I was not feeling the outfit I had packed. What I learned is that you can't go wrong with a mini fit and flare, especially when the material is thick and patterned! Stay tuned for the Fashion Show recaps- in the meantime follow my adventures on Instagram here!

Lil Red Shoes

Fashion Week San Diego started yesterday with an Art meets Beauty Night at the Broadway Pier (the background of today's pictures). I decided to go a little glam-casual this day because once the runway show days start I'll be in dresses. I added these red shoes (previously seen here) and noticed that they always add some oomph to a plain outfit!

September Outfit Recap

Hello October! As I look at my recap I can definitely see the transition into Fall and how much I have adopted denim, leather and great additions like my Marshalls #fabfound items and the Phillip Lim for Target Collection. October seems jam packed already both in my office job and blog related events. God Willing, I will be going to NYC at the end of this month for LuckyFabb NYC and touring the city with my family which I'm really excited about. Stay tuned and make sure to follow my adventures on Instagram!
