Striped Fit and Flare Dress

My obsession with fit-and-flare dresses resumed when I tried this dress on at Forever 21 and it fit like a glove! I love this silhouette because of its slimming proportions and also because of its classic shape reminiscent of the 1950's.

The thick striped pattern reminded me of a Kate Spade dress, but obvi this was just a fraction of the price, which for the same girly effect is a *score!* in my book! Plus the coral and cream combo were not only perfect for Spring, but also perfect to wear to my friend's baby shower!

Hope you all had a great weekend and have a great Monday!

Ready in 30

It was one of those lazy afternoons when after sitting on the couch with the boyfriend (and 2 lap dogs) all morning, hunger struck and going to eat sushi at Sushi Deli (one of our favorite places) seemed like a genius idea! My boyfriend always asks "how long is it going to take you to get ready? Is it going to be a whole production?" - meaning make up, straightening my hair, heels, etc etc- amounting to about an hour and a half. This time I replied "give me 30!".

This my dear readers is me ready in 30 minutes! I grabbed a few comfortable pieces like these wide leg jeans ( they are my new best friend), this flowy top to stay cool in the heat and wedges.

Motto Tees

I didn't think I was a graphic tee kind of gal until I saw this one and figured out that I'm  a motivational saying t-shirt kind of girl. Such few words on a tee can really pull at the heartstrings if you relate to the message, like in this one I really connect with "Dream Believe Achieve" as it describes my optimistic journey through life. This shirt will for sure be making many cameos on the blog, but for today I decided to wear it with my fave black and white elements. If you could put a motto on a tee what would it be?

Sweet Edge

I am really loving the combination of edgy with sweet pieces because it is an unexpected way to revamp an outfit. In this look, this faux-leather jacket with spikes on the shoulders added structure to the flowiness of the dress. The combo gave new life to this dress (last worn here in all its sweet glory) not only with the leather pieces, but with the wind that gave me a few Marilyn Monroe moments! I hope this gives you another option on how to wear a dress that's been sitting in your closet! Have a great day y'all!

Fashionably Sailor Chic

Today I bring you a sailor inspired outfit in collaboration with super chic blogger Lauren from Fashionably Lo.

Since I wore this to my niece's bowling birthday party I wanted to infuse the outfit with small nautical details. I love that both Lauren and I went for similar details (great minds think alike): stripes, wide leg trousers and a bold pop of color! And of course I couldn't pass up the opportunity to bust out my anchor earrings!

Modern Day Coco

Black and white tweed reminds me of that signature textile by Coco Chanel. It always adds that touch of lady-like sophistication and this coat also has gold stud accents which gave me a modern Coco feel. With that, I leave you with one of my favorite Coco Chanel quotes: "A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous."

LuckyFabb Lessons and Pics

TGIF! Today I wanted to share the rest of the pictures and some lessons I learned at the LuckyFabb Conference. There was so much information, but I narrowed it down to some of my favorite pictures and pieces of advice, all intertwined below!

Black, White and Neon Pop

If you follow me on Instagram you've seen this outfit as I was parading around in LuckyFabb, but after the conference the girls and I headed to Altitude, the rooftop pool at the SLS Hotel, to take our "official" outfit pictures.

Any time you have a black and white ensemble, neon yellow offers an edgy touch. Two days before the conference, I found this Anne Klein dress at Marshalls and I started jumping with joy because of  a) the great price and b) my current obsession with the windowpane aka grid pattern (as you can see here!).

Black and White Edge

The SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills is luxuriously chic with sexy, yet elegant decor. It was just that, that inspired my dinner outfit. Despite our brains being overfilled with so much information from a full day at the Lucky Fabb conference, fellow bloggers Lisa, JealeyniDaisy and I had dinner at Tres by José Andrés inside the SLS hotel. The drinks were decadent and the conversation was so good that a bond between us was immediately formed.

A little black dress is a must-have on trips because you can mold it to suit any event by layering or accessorizing. For dinner, I added clean gold accessories and layered on a white blazer to complement these statement shoes from Zara.

Mint and Coral for Luckyfabb

Hey y'all! I'm back from the Luckyfabb West conference and if you don't know what that is, it is a Fashion and Beauty Blog Conference hosted by Lucky Magazine in Los Angeles where they put amazing resources and sponsors together to advise us bloggers on ways to take our blogs (a.k.a. babies) to the next level! I had an AMAZING time learning from the best in the fashion/ beauty industry like Drew Barrymore, Kelly Osbourne, Betsey Johnson to name a few- pics of them and the panels below.

Now, going to a fashion blogger conference definitely ups the pressure because it's literally a room full of super stylish women! For day one I decided to be super girly in pastels. Stay tuned for more outfits and pics from day 2 of the conference!

Moisturizing and Glowing with Aveeno

Hi Girls!! As you may have seen if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, I have been busy at the Lucky Fashion and Beauty Bloggers Conference. Outfit posts will resume within the next couple of days, but for now I leave you with more great products!!

To me, Aveeno is synonymous with skin care because I am an avid Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion user, so when this Aveeno Active Naturals campaign came along, I was really excited to try out some of their other products!

You see, I'm more of a basics kind of girl when it comes to skin care, and I get intimidated by some of the more complex beauty products, but as I read the descriptions to these products I kept thinking "oooooooh I don't know why I haven't tried this before" or "oooooh I didn't know this existed!" By the same token, I'm always looking to adopt new ways to moisturize because I suffer from really dry skin, especially during this season when I'm exposed to a lot of air conditioning in the office.

My all time fave is of course the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion and now I have added the bath time version: the Daily Moisturizing Body Wash.

I have especially become a fan of their "Positively Radiant" daily moisturizers because they aim to even out skin tone and (definitely needed for a sleep-deprived girl like me) brightens up tired and dull looking skin with their Total Soy Complex. This was so beneficial on days when I was exhausted but just needed a quick glow to look awake ;)

I was also "ooohing and ahhhing" about the tinted moisturizer with SPF 30 which I plan to smother or in technical terms "evenly distribute" over my face for a nice summer glow, or to look like I just came back from a beach vacation.

So many ways and so many great Aveeno Products! Please join us for the #AVEENOActiveNaturals Bilingual Twitter Party on Monday, April 22d at 6pm PST / 9pm EST.  You can RSVP HERE ON FACEBOOK.

☮ & ♥,

Please note: This post is in collaboration with Latina Bloggers Connect and Aveeno. This post was written by me and expresses my genuine views.

Neutrogena Spring must-have beauty items #NTGBeautifulInsideOut

I'm taking a mini break from fashion to bring you a post of something just as equally fun for me- beauty! I was sent an array Neutrogena beauty products that are ideal for Spring and Summer use. Some of them I have already used and some are new to me which is very exciting.

March Outfit Recap

Hello April! In comparison to my February Outfits, my March outfits have started to adopt the Spring trends- dresses, florals, bright lipstick colors and skirts! With the awesome weather we are having here in San Diego, it looks like the Spring/Summer looks are full speed ahead!

On a personal note, March has been an extremely busy month for me, especially at work and it's when my work-blog-personal life balance gets tested. Sometimes I just need some me-time doing nothing to heal that. Do any of you bloggers experience that too?

From looking at my calendar, I'm extremely excited about LuckyFabb this week and many more local fashionable events this month! LuckyFabb will be my first blogger conference and I'm still figuring out what to wear which is a huge deal at a "Fashion and Beauty Blogger" event. Anybody else going? Drop me a tweet, I would love to connect with as many bloggers as I can while I'm there :) If not, make sure to follow my #luckyfabb adventures as I'm sure I'll be instagramming.... a lot!
