Outfit: Casual Weekend Outings

Hope you are all having a great weekend! This weekend I've been catching up with family and friends. I had sushi dates, coffee dates, lunch dates, dinner dates... needless to say I feel like I gained 10 pounds!! I definitely have to step it up big time this week, with eating healthy and working out because Vegas (and Vegas pool parties) are in the horizon (eek!). So if you have any motivating tips leave them in the comment section ;) hee hee... This was my Saturday outfit when I met up with my cousin for lunch and then visited other friends :)

High End to Cost-Effective: Bright Handbags!

I've been so obsessed with bright colors this season, especially the concept of a pop of color. From colored jeans to bright handbags, the pop of color gives an outfit pizzaz! I recently saw Victoria Beckham and the Kardashian girls carrying around bright Birkin bags and I got to thinking about bright handbags at my price point. Obviously, we can't all afford a $8,000 and up bag like the dreamy Birkin (hello? we're in a recession) BUT we can still look good in a cost-efficient bright bag. Here is my list of bright handbags from HIGH END to Cost Efficient and a lot of brand names in between :) I have my eye on a couple that I definitely have to add to my closet before the summer ends! Enjoy!

Opening Day @ The Del Mar Racetrack!

Thank God it's the weekend! I've had a super busy week at work as I had to meet a big deadline yesterday. I worked through lunches so that I could escape early on Wednesday to attend my 5th Opening Day at the Del Mar Racetrack (oh the sacrifice!)

Opening Day is one of those San Diego staples where we can all head down to the racetrack in our big hats (or fascinators), enjoy the races and bet on some horsies! This year a new record was reached with 46,588 attendees! Two of those were me and my boo. I've worn the big hats in the past as I had showed on this post, so this year I wanted to do a bright fascinator and a simple dress. I was inspired by the Royal Wedding, however I didn't want an outrageous fascinator like the one Princess Beatrice wore! ha ha. I originally was going to make one, but I stumbled upon this cute one at a local shop and voila there you have it ;)

About the outfit: Fascinator: Local Shop// Sunglasses: H&M// Dress: F21// Shoes: Target// Gold Bracelets from Mexico// Other bracelets: F21 and Cotton On

Baby Lion Baby Shower

Hi everyone! I hope you all had an eventful weekend, like I did :) I guess I'm at that age where every other weekend I either have a baby shower, bridal shower, birthday or wedding! This baby shower was for my cousin and his girlfriend. I just noticed I wore florals yet again! I'm addicted to florals at this time of year.

About the outfit: Dress: Forever 21// Sunnies: H&M// Accessories: Charlotte Russe// Shoes: Target
My Sister did a great job with the decor... My cousin's last name is "Leon" which means lion in spanish, so the theme was lions :)
This is my lovely sister setting up the table..
Treats were made by our friends at MKR Creations
I was so proud to implement this mix (recommendation from my co-worker) Red wine + Sprite + Can of fruit cocktail
Mexican Empanadas, stuffed with meat/ chicken/ cheese & jalapeno! so good!

The Maxi Skirt

Guess what?! I made my boyfriend take pictures of me! ha ha ha... well I managed to before the sun went down. Ever since my bff took pictures of me, it's hard to go back to a tri-pod! The quality of the pictures look so much nicer!

Today's post is in response to the "Bloggers do it Better #5" The Maxi Skirt. I must admit, I didn't have a maxi SKIRT (I have several Maxi dresses) in my closet so when I went to the mall to "browse" as I tend to do during my work lunch time, I spotted a very small selection at Forever 21. I wanted a maxi skirt that was a solid color so it could be more versatile, I feel that if I bought a printed one it would restrict me. So I found this black one at...where else? Cotton On! ha! and it was in the sales rack! It's so comfy!! I'm glad I added this piece to my closet, I see myself loungin' in it in the future ;)

About the outfit: Striped blazer: Charlotte Russe//Watch: vintage Gucci// Accessories: F21// Purse: Tory Burch// Sunglasses, T-shirt & Maxi Skirt: Cotton On
